Can you take on Google in India yourself?
Yes. Suing to reinstate a suspended account rarely works — arbitration blocks it. What works is the data-rights and consumer route. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 gives you the right to access and erase your data, and the consumer courts (District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission) let you claim compensation for deficient service without a lawyer and with low fees.
- Data access request (DPDP Act 2023) — ask Google for the data it holds on you (free).
- Complain to the Data Protection Board of India — the statutory regulator under the DPDP Act.
- Erasure / de-index — request removal of your data and search results about you.
- Consumer complaint — claim compensation in the District Consumer Commission for deficiency of service.
